Blues defender gets All Whites call for qualifiers against New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands next month


Tommy Smith has been called up by New Zealand for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, set to take place next month.

The Town defender will meet up with the All Whites squad for their games against New Caledonia (home) and the Solomon Islands (away) on the 22ndand 26thMarch respectively.

Mick McCarthy’s side then face Leeds United at Portman Road four days after New Zealand take on the Solomon Islands.

The All Whites have won all four of their qualifying games so far this campaign, with Blues defender captaining his country on occasions in the absence of the now retired Ryan Nelsen.
