Tommy looking for Blues to build on Boro performance at Portman Road

Tommy Smith is looking for Blues to reproduce the form showed in the last home game when Blackpool visit at the weekend.

Mick McCarthy’s side, who beat Play-Off chasing Middlesbrough at Portman Road at the start of the month, face the Seasiders and Watford at home in the space of four days, with Blues lying one point above the relegation zone.

“Our home form is going to be vital,” Tommy, who scored twice in the 4-0 win over Boro, told the Club website.

“We showed what we can do by beating Middlesbrough - a team who have been in the top six all season - comfortably at Portman Road.

“I thought that was probably our best team performance of the season and we need to look to get back to that level at the weekend against Blackpool and against Watford a few days later.

“We know we are involved in a relegation battle but at the same time we are confident that we can pull ourselves out of it.”
