Town boss believes at least four more wins are required for Championship survival and is now turning his attention to the weekend trip to Huddersfield

Mick McCarthy believes Town need at least four more wins to ensure Championship survival this season.

The Town boss saw his side slip to a home defeat to high-flying Watford last night- a side Mick believes are the best team Blues have faced this season- but is now turning his attentions to Saturday’s trip to Huddersfield.

“I’d say we need at least four more wins, if not five, to make sure we stay in the league,” Mick told Ipswich Player.

“I’m sure we will get them because we’ve got a good group of lads here but we know it won’t be easy and we know we still have a lot of work to do.

“Watford were probably the best team I’ve seen this season but we have to put that behind us now and look ahead to Huddersfield on Saturday.

“They got slapped 6-1 at Forest last night so they will be looking for a response as well, so it should shape up for an entertaining game of football.”
