Mick sees positives after conceding Blues were second best

Mick McCarthy admitted that Barnsley were well worth their point at Portman Road.

Blues led through Luke Chambers’ goal but Danny Rose’s late header gave the Tykes a share of the spoils.

“We didn’t play well and for long periods Barnsley were better than us,” said the Town boss.

“Maybe it’s the weight of expectation at home but our hardest games have been against Bristol City, Peterborough and Barnsley today.

“Having gone ahead, we should have seen the game out but it was a bad goal to concede. We work hard on defending at set-pieces so that is disappointing.

“If I am taking a positive out of it though it’s that we have picked up another point when we have not played well.

“Last week at Cardiff, we had seven and eights all over the pitch. Today, it was mainly fives but I’ll take the draw and move on.”
