Town agree loan deal with Wolves defender as Mick looks to bolster his squad

Town are set to complete the signing of Richard Stearman on loan from Wolves, for the remainder of the season.

Blues boss Mick McCarthy is closing in on the capture of the former Leicester man, with the 25-year set to arrive at Portman Road to complete the switch subject to the relevant paperwork being processed.

The defender has found first-team opportunities at Molineux hard to come by this term and Wolves boss Dean Saunders is happy for Richard to team up with former mentors Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor at Portman Road.

The Blues boss has acted quickly to add to his defensive ranks, after Bradley Orr was recalled by parent-club Blackburn this weekend.
