TOWN OUT OF CUP

8 January 2013

Josh on target but Blues go down at Felixstowe

Tyrone Mings made his first appearance for Blues but couldn’t stop Town sliding out of the Suffolk Premier Cup at Felixstowe and Walton.

The 19-year-old defender was included in a young Town side which featured Arran Lee-Barrett in goal and Josh Carson and Ronan Murray carrying the attacking threat.

Carson found the target for Town in the closing stages but two Felixstowe goals – the second one from Andy Crump, who works for the Ipswich Town Charitable Trust, were enough to see the hosts through to the next round.

Town boss Mick McCarthy and assistant Terry Connor were among the crowd watching the game.
