Leddy and Winter on target but high flying Addicks impress

Charlton showed why they are flying high in the league with a convincing win at Playford Road.

The Addicks started the game strongly and went ahead when Harry Gerard fed Tobi Silva, who chipped the ball over the advancing Michael Crowe in the Town goal.

Charlton came close to adding a second with Silva squaring the ball to Tom Derry at the near post but Crowe made the save.

Town levelled just before the quarter hour. Tom Winter's cross was handled by Harry Lennon and Jonathan Leddy converted from the resultant penalty.

The visitors continued to look the better side though and Crowe did well to deny Derry, Kasey Palmer failing to convert from the rebound with the goal open.

Derry put Charlton ahead on 34 minutes with a cool finish and they could have added a third before Town stuck again, with Matthew Clarke showing a great touch to set Winter in on goal and he did the rest.

Charlton edged ahead 10 minutes after the break when Derry struck  his second of the game and added to their advantage soon after through Oliver Muldoon.

The south Londoners wrapped up the points with Silva striking twice to complete his hat-trick and a comprehensive win for the second in the table Addicks.
