Latest pre-season test for Mick's men this evening as Blues travel to the Priestfield Stadium
Town’s pre-season preparations continue this evening, with Blues taking on Gillingham in a friendly this evening (kick-off 7.30pm).
Mick McCarthy will take a 22 man squad to the MEMS Priestfield Stadium, with new recruits Dean Gerken, Paul Anderson and Cole Skuse all set to feature.
Blues have made a solid start to pre-season, beating Shelbourne 2-0 thanks to a brace from Daryl Murphy, before following that up with a win over Crawley last week with another Murphy strike and a penalty from David McGoldrick seeing Town beat the Red Devils 2-1.
A Town XI, made up of mainly Academy scholars, beat Chippenham at the weekend 1-0, the ensure Blues kept up their 100% record.
Tyrone Mings missed the trip to his former club after being pulled out of the squad by Mick, following an injury to Aaron Cresswell.
The former Tranmere man is a doubt for this evening’s clash with the Gills.
