TYRONE HEADS BACK TO CHIPPENHAM

12 July 2013

Defender in young Town squad for friendly

Town will be fielding a young side at Chippenham on Saturday, with Tyrone Mings included in the squad for a return to his former club.

The 20-year-old defender spent a few months at the Wiltshire club before impressing Mick McCarthy in a trial match at Portman Road last December and earning himself an 18 month contract.

“It will be a young squad that goes to Chippenham. Sparky [Mark Kennedy] will be taking them,” Town boss Mick told the Club website.

“Tyrone will be going back there and maybe some of the younger players that were with us at Crawley but we’ve not got enough players to be taking a senior side.

Tyrone made his debut for Blues in the final game of last season at Burnley, with Mick adding: “He’s done well for us and I’m very pleased with him.”

Kick-off at Hardenhuish Park is 1pm.
