BOSS DISAPPOINTED NOT TO WIN

9 March 2013

We should have won and should have had a penalty says Mick

Mick McCarthy left London Road disappointed that Blues didn’t take all three points.

Frank Nouble hit the post and was denied by a terrific save by Bobby Olejnik, the Peterborough ‘keeper also clawing away a header from David McGoldrick.

Blues had a big shout for a penalty in the second-half and the Town boss said: “It should have been given. I’m not one to moan about decisions but it was hand to ball.

“We had the better chances and the better of the play. I’m happy with the performance and just disappointed with the result because we did enough to have won the game.

“Their ‘keeper made two fabulous saves and we didn’t make the most of the situations we created but it’s another point. It keeps Peterborough below us in the league.”

Mick was impressed with the performance of debutant Jay Tabb, adding: “He was terrific for us. He’s a good player, we know that and his display was highlighted by the tackle he put in right at the end when he was knackered. I was delighted with him.”
