The skipper hails the victory over Bolton and was delighted to net his first goal of the season

Carlos Edwards labelled the win over Bolton as ‘massive’ and was delighted to net his first goal of the season.

The winger fired home with just two minutes remaining to see Blues claim all three points and move up to 18th place in the Championship table.

“It’s been a long time coming but I’m delighted to have scored and when it proves to be the winning goal it’s even sweeter,” the skipper told the Club website.

“Obviously it’s very pleasing on a personal note but overall I thought it was the perfect team performance today.

“To get the three points and keep a clean sheet is great for the guys and this is a massive win for us.

“The gaffer and TC have been telling me to get into the box more often and thankfully it’s paid off today, as I’ve arrived at the right time and managed to get a goal.

“Jet (Emmanuel-Thomas) did really well on the left to cross the ball in and luckily it’s fallen into my path and I’ve slotted it home, although I did scuff my first effort!

“It was such a great feeling to score and you could see from the celebrations how much the win meant to everyone.”
