Goalscorer Didsy delighted to get on the scoresheet and believes the impressive team performance is the perfect preparation for Monday's trip to Millwall

David McGoldrick was delighted to grab two goals as Town beat Leeds 3-0 but was more impressed with Blues’ all round performance.

The striker notched a brace, with goals either side of half-time, whilst Jay Emmanuel-Thomas came off the bench to net a third in the second-half.

Leeds did see defender Tom Lees sent off for a reckless challenge on Jay Tabb, with David admitting that incident did turn the game but believes the three points sets the lads up perfectly to Monday’s trip to Millwall.

“I’m delighted to get the two goals today and it was a fantastic all round performance from the lads,” said Didsy in an interview with Ipswich Player.

“We were a little slow to start today but once they got the red card we seemed to take control of the game.

“Once we got the first goal we never looked in danger of losing it and we managed to get another couple of goals which capped off the performance nicely.

“It was an important win for us as teams around us again picked up points and it sets us up nicely for Monday’s game against Millwall.

“The hard work starts now and we will have a little rest and get straight into focusing on Monday’s game now.”
