Teenager striker Marriott catches the eye with impressive cameo as he makes his first-team bow

Jack Marriott admitted the nerves were jangling before, during and after making his Town debut!

The second-year Academy scholar, who has been offered a one-year professional contract, came on midway through the second-half for his first-team bow and came close on two separate occasions to sealing his debut with a goal.

Despite ending up on the losing side, Jack was over the moon to get a chance in the side and admits the experience hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

“It’s brilliant and my head is still spinning to be honest with you!” the striker told the Club website.

“My stomach was doing somersaults before the game and I was very nervous when I came on.

“I settled down once I got into the game though and I thought I did okay.

“It was a great experience for me and I want to continue to work hard over the summer so I can hit the ground running.

“The gaffer and TC have been brilliant with me and I want to prove to them that I can be around the first-team again next season.”
