Marcus Evans continues sponsorship for another year

Marcus Evans has extended his shirt sponsorship deal with the Club into a sixth year.

Town have had discussions with other prospective sponsors but it’s been decided that the Club owner’s name will appear on the new look home and away shirts for 2013/14.

“Marcus’ initial shirt sponsorship agreement with the Club was up at the end of 2012/13 but he had decided to extend that for another year,” Town’s joint managing director, Ian Milne, told the Club website.

“We did speak to a number of local and national companies regarding shirt sponsorship of Ipswich Town and there was interest.

“We could have pursued that further but Marcus is aware of the benefits of the sponsorship and is happy to continue with his name on the front of the shirts for next season.”

The Marcus Evans Group’s five year shirt sponsorship deal with Town became the longest in the Club’s history when it was agreed in May 2008.

Blues’ look for 2013/14 will be revealed this weekend but TeamCard holders, including all season ticket holders, Silver members and Junior Blues will get the chance to see - and buy - the new home kit, as well as view the away and goalkeeper strips at Planet Blue on Friday between 5pm and 8pm. Next season will be the final year of Town’s contract with current kit suppliers Mitre.
