Town striker swaps the pitch for the classroom at Horringer Court Middle School
Town’s Alan Lee swapped the training pitch for the classroom earlier today, and put his story-telling skills to the test for children at Horringer Court Middle School in Bury St. Edmunds.
The school invited the striker to attend year five’s literacy lesson and read Celtic folk legend Tir Na Nog, in his very best Irish accent.
The lesson rounded off with Alan taking questions from the youngsters about the story and living in Ireland before telling the children what it’s like being a professional football player.
“It was a real pleasure to come to the school and share the Irish folk legend with year five. Most of them hadn’t heard the story before and they seemed to enjoy it as much as I did when I was growing up,” said Alan.
