Goalscorer Nouble praises the character of the Town side after superb injury time win at Bloomfield Road

Frank Nouble praised the character of the Town side, as Blues came from behind to beat Blackpool with an injury time winner from Daryl Murphy ensuring a first away win of the season.

After Stephen Dobbie had fired the hosts in front, Frank came off the bench to draw Town level with his first strike of the season, with fellow half-time substitute Paul Taylor also netting as Mick McCarthy’s side took the lead.

It looked as if the Blues would have to settle for a point though after Steven Davies smashed the ball home for Blackpool in injury time, but Murphy rose highest to head home a Taylor cross with moments on the clock to ensure Town completed a dramatic comeback win leaving the dressing-room ‘buzzing’.

“We’re delighted, everybody is buzzing in the dressing-room and I think we deserved the win,” Frank told the Club website.

“At half-time the manager said a few words and told us that we were going to go for it in the second-half, bringing on me and (Paul) Taylor for two midfielders.

“We pressed all second-half and we had chances to have wrapped the game up before the end. Obviously it was a bad feeling when they equalised but it just shows the team spirit and character we have here, to come back and win it at the death.

“I’m delighted to get my first goal of the season and I’m confident in my ability.

“Obviously it’s been frustrating to not start more games but it just shows that it’s a squad game, with me and Tayls both scoring having come off the bench.

“I think I’ve done okay recently when I’ve been coming on and hopefully I’ve shown the gaffer what I can do today and it’s up to me to keep pushing on now.”
