MICK SURPRISED AT BOLTON START

25 October 2013

Boss warns that Trotters can beat anyone though

Mick McCarthy admits he is surprised to see Bolton at the wrong end of the table but says they are capable of beating anyone in the Championship.

Wanderers are unbeaten in their last four games but have won only one of those fixtures and sit fourth from bottom in the table.

“I am surprised to see them where they are, with the squad they have got,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“We went there last year and they were down with us at the bottom of the table and I was surprised then but sometimes it takes a while to adjust to the Championship when you’ve dropped down from the Premier League, as they had.

“They really picked up over the second half of last season though and were within a whisker of reaching the Play-Offs. Everyone thought they would start better than they have done this year but they have a good squad of players and on any given day, they can beat anyone.”
