Gerks relishing clash against the League leaders but insists Town are full of confidence at Portman Road

Dean Gerken insists the Blues are ready for what he describes as the biggest test of Town’s season so far.

The ‘keeper is looking ahead to the weekend clash with high-flying Burnley at Portman Road and is ready to lock horns with the Clarets deadly strike duo of Sam Vokes and Danny Ings, should the latter shake off an ankle injury.

“Saturday will probably be our toughest yet, with Burnley flying at the minute,” Gerks told the Club website.

“Their strikers, Sam Vokes and Danny Ings are banging in the goals but that’s why you are in the game- to test yourself against the best.

“We’re confident at home and with the fans backing that we get here at Portman Road, we are confident of leaving the pitch at full-time with another three points.

“We’ve had a good break with a few days off and all the lads have come back in fit and raring to go again.”

You can read an exclusive, in-depth interview with Dean in full in Saturday’s official matchday programme, priced at £3.
