Town looking for back-to-back wins at Portman Road as Yeovil visit Suffolk this evening

Ipswich ran out comfortable winners over Middlesbrough in midweek as David McGoldrick scored a brace at Portman Road. That makes it nine wins in their last 12 home games and against struggling Yeovil they will be confident of further success.

The Glovers have picked up just one point in their five games since an opening day win against foot-of-the-table Millwall. Eight of Ipswich’s last 11 home wins have been by at least two goals. With Yeovil having scored only twice since their promotion another comfortable home win looks on the cards. Ipswich can be backed at 13/8 on the handicap -1.0, but they’ve actually won by three clear goals in five of their last 16 at home and the 4/1  on the -2.0 handicap also looks a great bet.

65% of the Tractor Boys home games since the start of last season have featured at least three goals, as have all of their last seven home matches against promoted teams. If Yeovil can find a goal from somewhere we’d be very surprised if over 2.5 goals didn’t land. But even without an away goal, Ipswich could well land this on their own and over 2.5 goals looks worth backing at 8/11

Other reasons to bet:

-Ipswich have scored first in seven of their last nine home matches

-Town have also been level at half-time in six of their last seven matches

-The Blues have had over 2.5 goals in their last seven home matches against promoted teams
