BOSS SALUTES TOWN CHARACTER

17 September 2013

Mick praise for players after coming from behind to win again

Mick McCarthy praised his players’ character after Town recovered from a goal down to take the points against Yeovil.

Joel Grant, a summer target for Blues, gave the Glovers the lead but second-half strikes from Daryl Murphy and Aaron Cresswell gave Town the win.

“It’s not what I want to do, coming from behind,” Mick told the Club website, with Town repeating the recovery act for the second time in four days following the win over Middlesbrough at the weekend.

“It makes it harder than it should be but it shows the spirit is there, the camaraderie.

“We should have been in front before they scored, then sod’s law, Joel Grant, who I spoke to in the summer sticks one in the top corner.

“We were wasteful with our chances but then Murph eventually gets the ball over the line. I thought he was going to do his hamstring at one stage but they all count and Cressy’s was a super goal and well deserved.

“The full-backs are pushing on for us and giving us an attacking edge and that is what we have asked of them.”
