Midfielder Josh Carson leaves Portman Road by mutual consent
Town have parted company with midfielder Josh Carson by mutual consent.
The Northern Ireland international has spent time with Bristol City, Notts County and Hibernian on trial this summer, after being informed by manager Mick McCarthy that he wasn’t part of his future plans.
The young winger has been allowed to leave Portman Road before the transfer window deadline to enable him to seek a new club immediately, whereas if the decision was made after this date Josh wouldn’t be able to play for anybody until January.
Josh progressed through the Academy ranks at Portman Road, going on to feature 33 times in the first-team and finding the net on five occasions.
“We thank Josh for all his efforts at Ipswich Town and we wish him all the best for the future,” Mick McCarthy told the Club website.
