Michael signs two year pro deal as reward for Academy progress
The 17-year-old Academy ‘keeper has been rewarded for his progress at the Club over the past 12 months, and put pen to paper on the deal this afternoon that keeps him at Portman Road until the summer of 2015, with a year option included.
“Obviously I’m delighted to have been offered a pro deal,” Michael told the Club website.
“This is a great football club and I feel I am learning all the time and making progress.
“I am training every day with Scott [Loach] and Dean [Gerken] and that is helping my development and I’ve got a fantastic coach in Malcolm Webster as well.
“I’ve been around the first-team this season and if I can put pressure on the two ‘keepers then great but my main focus at the moment is to be as good as I can be and play as much as I can for the U21s.”
Michael was born in London but moved to Norway when he was two. He returned to Britain to join Town’s Academy and is capped by Wales at U19 level, qualifying for the country through his grandmother.
