Dean not surprised by Yeovil progress under familiar foe

Dean Gerken has not been surprised at the progress Yeovil have made under his former boss, Gary Johnson.

The Town ‘keeper, who will be hoping to line up against the Glovers at Portman Road, worked under Johnson at Bristol City and knows the Championship newboys will be fired up for tonight’s game.

“I really enjoyed my time with Gary Johnson,” said Gerks, speaking in an interview in tonight’s matchday programme.

“He’s a good manager, who knows how to recruit players and he’s doing a superb job at Yeovil.

“People seemed to have been a bit surprised by the rise up the leagues by Yeovil but it’s not a huge shock to me, because I know what Gary is like.

“He just has this way of getting his point across to people and at Yeovil he seems to have the Midas touch a bit.

“He’s a funny man too, a real character both on and off the training pitch but at the same time, you don’t want to get on the wrong side of him!”

Tonight’s matchday programme also features interviews with Luke Chambers, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Alan Lee and Tom Winter.

Town fan and Darts ace Kevin Painter discusses all things Blue, Matt Holland looks back on his days in the green of the Republic of Ireland in his latest column and Tyrone Mings plays the numbers game.

Also don’t miss the giant poster given away FREE with the programme.
