END OF SEASON DINNER 2014

30 April 2014

McGoldrick, Berra, Murphy, Williams and Hammond all scoop up awards in annual event at Milsoms, Kesgrave Hall

Over 250 guests were at ‘the hangar’ at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall to see David McGoldrick handed the Players’ Player of the Year award at the Club’s end of season dinner last night.

Didz bagged 16 goals, which is set to see him finish the season as Town’s top scorer, before a knee ligament injury brought his campaign to a premature end but his form was still good enough to get the vote from his team-mates.

Jonny Williams’ 30 yarder against Derby was voted goal of the season by the supporters while Daryl Murphy picked up the John Kerridge Memorial Trophy for the most improved player, a category where the winner was selected by Town boss Mick McCarthy.

Kyle Hammond, who is recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, picked up the Academy Player of the Year while Christophe Berra added to his Supporters’ Player of the Year and Junior Blues’ Player of the Year with the Corporate Customers’ Player of the Year award.

Simon Milton compered the evening, which included a 20 minute sit down interview with Mick and saw the event as another successful occasion for the Club.

“It was another good night. Milsoms had done a great job with the venue and speaking to the guests, everyone had a good time which is what it’s all about,” Milts told the Club website.

“Our director of sales, Rosie Richardson, and her team put in a tremendous amount of work to stage the event, which is the biggest of the year for the Club and as usual, it ran very smoothly.”
