FITNESS RACE FOR BLUES

23 April 2014

Town hoping injuries ease ahead of Burnley clash at weekend

Mick McCarthy is hopeful that Christophe Berra and Luke Hyam will be fit for Saturday’s trip to Burnley.

Both missed the draw with Bournemouth on Monday after taking knocks in the defeat at Watford at the weekend as Blues’ injury list mounts ahead of the crucial clash against the Clarets at Turf Moor.

Paul Anderson was forced off during the second-half against Bournemouth with a reoccurrence of the hamstring injury that has hindered him lately and Anthony Wordsworth is another concern for Blues after sustaining a dead leg against the Cherries.

“Christophe’s knee had swollen up after the Watford game but hopefully he will be okay for Saturday,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“It’s the same with Luke. We are hopeful with him but we will have to see how it goes over the next day or two.

“Ando and Woody, we will have to wait and see. They will all need some TLC [tender loving care] and R&R [rest and recuperation] to have a chance for Saturday.”

The Club have knocked 50 per cent of the travel fare for supporters going on the official club coaches to Burnley at the weekend. For full details, click here.
