We let Watford and the other clubs around us off the hook says boss
Anthony Wordsworth levelled the scores for Town on 50 minutes and Blues were looking the more likely to go on and win the game but after Luke Hyam had hit the bar with a header, the Hornets struck twice within three minutes to run out 3-1 winners.
“They were game changing moments. We could have been ahead when we’ve hit the bar. That has probably saved the game for them and then five minutes later we are 3-1 down,” said the Town boss.
“It was poor marking for the second goal. It was a good delivery, a good run and a good header but we shouldn’t have allowed him to get a head on it.
“Up until then I was delighted with our performance. For an hour we were the better team and we have let them off the hook.
“The results went for us yesterday so not only did we let Watford off the hook, we have let the other clubs around us off the hook as well because we knew that three points would have taken us into the top six.
“It's a missed opportunity so I’m very disappointed with the result but not with the performance.”
