International call-ups for Murph, Connor and Elliott as well

Christophe Berra has been named in the Scotland squad for their European Championship opener against world champions Germany next month.

The Town defender, who has been capped 28 times, has received the call-up from Scotland boss Gordon Strachan and will meet up with his international team-mates after Town’s visit to Derby at the weekend.

The Scots take on Germany in Dortmund on Sunday, September 7 as the campaign to reach the 2016 European Championship finals begins.

Daryl Murphy and Conor Sammon could also be set for international duty. Both are named in the Republic of Ireland’s provisional squad for their friendly against Oman in Dublin on September 3 and then the opening European Championship qualifier against Georgia in Tbilisi four days later.

Elliott Hewitt completes the call-ups after being named in the Wales U21 squad as they complete their 2015 European Championship qualifiers against Finland on September 5 and Lithuania four days later. Both games are away.
