Chambers reveals the excitement in the camp ahead of Saturday and admits he's 'honoured' to be skipper
Luke Chambers has told the Club website he can’t wait to lead out the lads on Saturday- if selected-and believes Town are ready to kick-off the new campaign.
Town face recently relegated Fulham at Portman Road on Saturday in front of the live Sky cameras, with the skipper hoping the ‘togetherness’ at the Club can prove a catalyst for a successful season.
“There’s a lot of excitement in the camp to get started, certainly,” the defender explains.
“The boys have had a great pre-season and we’re looking fit, we’re looking strong and we’re looking forward to the ‘proper’ games now."

“There’s no substitute for playing in front of a crowd and playing for three points, so the lads are all raring to go now.
“Ipswich Town is such a massive Club with a superb fan base and I’ve said it before but the first day I arrived here, the fans have been brilliant with me, so it really does mean a lot to be captain of their Club.
“It feels as if we are all in this together- from the manager, to the players and staff, right through to everyone on the terraces- and hopefully we can make it a successful season."
