JAY RELISHING BRENTFORD CLASH

23 December 2014

Tabby set to make first return to Griffin Park as a player in Boxing Day cracker

Jay Tabb is relishing his first return to Brentford as a player since leaving the club after six years in 2006 when Town head to London on Boxing Day.

The midfielder began his career at Griffin Park and clocked up more than 150 appearances for the Bees before joining Coventry.

Brentford sit just a point and a place behind Blues in third place in the Championship with victory for either club on Friday seeing the winner go to the top of the table.

“I have great memories of my time at Brentford,” Jay told the Club website.

“They gave me a chance when I was released by Palace as an Academy player. It was the start for me. I scored a few goals there and really enjoyed my time at the club

“We got to the Play-Offs three times and lost out so the only thing that was missing was a promotion.

“I can’t wait to go back there. I went back and watched a couple of games from the stands soon after I left but I have never been back there as a player.

“They are doing great as well. Brentford probably are a surprise package this season.

“They look as though they have a really good set-up there and are going in the right direction. They are in the top six like us and deserve to be.”
