Our start changed the game says Mick of his clinical Blues

Mick McCarthy said Town’s flying start to the game was the key to the three points at Brentford.

Blues, in second before the game, stunned the third placed Bees with three goals inside the first half hour, including Daryl Murphy’s opener after 18 seconds before Town eventually ran out 4-2 winners.

“Of course it was a great way to start the game for us and if you get a start like that, it can change the dynamic of the match,” said the Town boss.

“It gave us a real advantage and when we got the second one, they had to push forward and were leaving it one v one at the back and that’s always dangerous.

“We were clinical with our chances. We punished them and we’ve not always done that.

“Murph is in a rich vein of form at the moment and let’s hope it continues and it was a terrific finish from Tommy. He took some stick from the lads because he is not known for cutting inside and bending one in the top corner with his right foot but he is certainly contributing again this season.”
