Midfielder praises his teammates and overjoyed to net for the Blues with his head!
Jay Tabb praised the work of his Town teammates following an excellent win over Middlesbrough which saw the Blues head into Christmas sat in the automatic places of the Championship.
The midfielder put in another superb display and capped off his performance with a goal on the stroke on half time, after Daryl Murphy had given Town an earlier lead.
“It’s a huge win today against a very good side and the lads have all ran themselves into the ground,” the former Reading man told Ipswich Player.
“I can barely stand here to be honest! We’re all delighted with the win but we can’t get carried away, we need to keep pushing on.
“It was a great feeling to score and it makes up for the chance I missed at Bolton. I haven’t scored for a while and it’s important we contribute goals from all over the pitch.
“The lads are all giving me a friendly bit of stick for my goal and it’s not often I score with my head!
“But despite my height I’ve always had a good leap on me and I just timed my run well. The build up was brilliant and the cross in was perfect for me.
“We will enjoy the win tonight and then start preparing for Brentford- my former club- on Boxing Day, which is a game I can’t wait for.”
