Carlos and Frank on hand to officially unveil new Junior Blues room at Portman Road
The Junior Blues room was officially opened this week by Junior Blues Captain Frank Nouble and Club skipper Carlos Edwards.
The facility is specifically designed for young supporters, offering a place for them to go before a match to meet other young fans and engage in the different activities the room provides.
Source One Consulting owner and life-long Blues fan Patrick Lewis and his wife Lisa, whose company also sponsor Town’s U15s, provided most of the furnishings for the room, but we were also fortunate to have the help of Signs Express and the Co-operative.
The idea for Junior Blues to have their own room is a result of the feedback of several surveys, which were aimed at different groups of supporters on separate matchdays last season to give supporters a voice, which would tell the club what aspects of their matchday experience they would like to change and improve.
The room is located in the lower tier of the East of England Co-operative stand and is open to all Junior Blues and young fans on Saturday matchdays.
Kitted out with Playstations, TVs, arts and crafts and games, the hope is that the room will enhance young fans match day experience.
Junior Blues Manager, Julie Bryant, told the Club website: “Adults have the bar and can talk to one another and the kids don’t really have anything to do, so the Junior Blues room gives them their own little community and a chance to interact with other youngsters of similar ages.”
