LUKE'S STAY ON SIDELINES CONTINUES

6 February 2014

Midfielder set to miss Barnsley but closing in on return

Luke Hyam looks set to miss out on Saturday’s trip to Barnsley as he continues his recovery from a badly cut knee.

The midfielder was stretchered off in the early stages of the defeat at Millwall after a tackle with Liam Trotter and stayed behind this week while the Town first-team squad went to a four day base in Portugal.

“Luke is a doubt for the weekend,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

“I have seen the cut. It’s a bad one and right on the joint, which makes it difficult with the stitches. His flexibility is not great and the injury is still impeding him.

“If he doesn’t make this weekend, he should be okay for Blackpool next Saturday.”
