MURPH BACK IN IRELAND SQUAD

20 February 2014

Daryl gets international call-up after six year absence

Daryl Murphy and Paul Green have both been named in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for their friendly against Serbia next month.

Paul appeared in both games played under new boss Martin O’Neill, the 3-0 win against Latvia and a goalless draw in Poland, but Daryl has not featured for the Irish since playing against Norway in 2008.

Daryl has made nine appearances for the Republic while Paul has 20 caps to his name.

O’Neill was at Portman Road last Saturday, watching Town take on Blackpool, with his Republic side facing Serbia in Dublin on March 5.
