Taylor spot on with two penalties but it's not enough for Blues as Lions grab a dramatic share of the spoils

Taylor: Brace from the spot

Paul Taylor netted twice for Town’s U21 Development side but it wasn’t enough for Blues to win the game, after drawing 2-2 with Millwall at Playford Road.

The striker and Scott Loach were the only first-teamers included in the side, with the rest of the squad made up of mainly first year pros and Academy scholars.

Town opened the scoring from the penalty spot, with former Peterborough man Taylor stroking the ball home from 12 yards out after midfielder Amir Berkane was tripped in the area.

The visitors responded well though and were soon back on level terms through striker Jermaine Easter.

Taylor was a threat throughout and he was on the scoresheet again late on, as the game was turned on its head in a dramatic ending to the tie.

The striker thought he had won it for Blues with just a minute remaining on the clock, netting a second penalty of the afternoon after being brought down in the box.

However there was still time for the Lions to grab an equaliser in injury time, with experienced frontman Easter notching his second of the game- also from penalty spot- to ensure the spoils were shared.

U21s: Loach, Hammomd, Westley, Clarke, Fowler, Sowunmi, Doherty, Lawrence, Adekunle, Taylor, Timlin
