He will play games there and that is what he needs says Mick
The Wales U21 international has impressed in his time at Priestfield and Mick McCarthy is happy for him to stay with the League One club until the summer.
“Gillingham were very keen to keep him and he will play games for them so we’re happy for Elliott to stay there,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“Since he has been here, he has had a hip operation and had bits and pieces of time in the first-team.
“Sometimes he has looked really promising, sometimes he has looked very good and sometimes he has looked like a kid who needs to play more games.
“Playing football week in week out is what Elliott needs at this time and he’ll get that at Gillingham.”
