Blues agree deal to sign Middlesbrough right-back on loan until the end of the season

Town have signed Middlesbrough’s Frazer Richardson on loan until the end of the season.

The right-back will undergo a medical this evening, after agreeing terms on a loan move to Portman Road, and should be available to make his debut at former club Leeds United, if selected.

Frazer, who was born in Rotherham, began his career at Elland Road and became a mainstay in their side, making just shy of 150 appearances before moving to Charlton in 2009.

After a single season at The Valley, the defender moved to the south coast to join Southampton and helped The Saints earn back-to-back promotions from League One and the Championship.

The defender joined current club Middlesbrough in the summer and has made 11 appearances for Boro but hasn’t featured under new boss Aitor Karanka and has now teamed up with the Blues until the end of the season.
