New loan signing targeting top six and extended stay at Portman Road

Frazer Richardson has made it clear that he wants to win a permanent contract at Portman Road.

The former Leeds defender has joined Blues from Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the term and has already been impressed by what he has seen at the Club.

“As soon as I walked through the door I could sense there is a good buzz about the place,” said Frazer, speaking in an interview in Saturday’s matchday programme.

“There is a great team spirit here, I can see that. I’ve mentioned that to some of the backroom staff. You can see that everyone is pulling in the same direction and if you’ve got that, you’ve got a chance of being successful.”

“I don’t know what the Club’s view is but mine is very straightforward. I want to win a contract here.

“I want to try and impress the manager over the next four months and win a deal that will keep me at Ipswich Town. I’m grateful to the manager and the Club for giving me a chance to show what I can do and I’ve got to take it.

“We’re in touching distance of the Play-Offs and from what I have seen so far, there is no reason why we can’t get in the top six and I want to play my part in helping the team try to achieve that.”
