Club sends deepest sympathies to family
The former Blue was found dead yesterday in woodland in Irvine, Scotland at the age of 53.
The midfielder spent three years at Portman Road between 1988-1991 and made 80 appearances for the Club, scoring 12 goals.
He also played for Dundee, Dundee United, St Johnstone, Brechin and Raith, as well as Rangers, who he joined in a then Scottish transfer record fee of £210,000 in 1980.
“It’s tragic news and obviously deepest sympathies are sent to Ian’s family and friends at this difficult time,” Club secretary Sally Webb told the Club website.
