NO FURTHER DAMAGE FOR LUKE

20 January 2014

Scans come back all clear but deep cut sees midfielder sidelined for two weeks

Luke Hyam is expected to be out for a couple of weeks after sustaining a bad cut just below the knee in Saturday’s defeat at Millwall.

The midfielder was injured in a tackle with former Blue, Liam Trotter, and was stretchered off and taken to a London hospital to be assessed.

The good news is that there is no damage to the joint with Town physio Matt Byard telling the Club website: “Luke’s had a scan on the knee and that’s all clear.

“The hospital washed out the cut, which is just below the knee, and then stitched up the wound.

“It’s a deep cut and there is some heavy bruising around the area as well. He’s on crutches and we have to be careful that the knee doesn’t get infected.

“If all goes well, you are looking at around two weeks before he can get out on the training ground again.”
