Midfielder eyeing up a first goal in Town colours sooner rather than later

Ryan Tunnicliffe believes he is due a first goal in Town colours and is hoping to break his duck sooner rather than later.

The midfielder recently agreed to extend his loan at Portman Road from Manchester United until the end of the season and has played a key role in helping Mick McCarthy’s side break into the top six.

“I’d like to think I’ll get a goal soon, I’m certainly due one!” Tunners told the Club website.

“I don’t want to go the whole season without scoring and I’m confident I will be on the scoresheet soon.

“But the main thing is that the team is playing well and I’m doing my bit to help out. As long as we keep picking up points, it doesn’t really matter who is getting the goals.

“We’ve been playing 4-3-3 in recent weeks, which is obviously a different formation to what we were used to.

“But it’s been working for us and we’ve gone nine games or so unbeaten using mainly that same formation.

“I like that system and I know I’ve always got the likes of Cole Skuse behind me to break up play and get moves started, which allows me a bit of freedom to break forward and join in with attacks.

“People have seen my game by now and they know I like to get forward and help out with long range shots. I know I haven’t scored yet but it isn’t for the want of trying and hopefully that can change soon.”
