New Blue relishing life at Town after signing one year deal
The 23-year-old striker, who scored his first goal in Blues’ colours when he opened the scoring in last night’s 2-1 win in a friendly at Southend, has signed a one year contract with an option on a further 12 months after impressing while on trial.
“I had the one chance to come to Ipswich and show what I can do and I have given it my best,” the former Borussia Dortmund player told the Club website.
“The manager [Mick McCarthy] has said that he has liked what I have done and has given me the opportunity to play for Ipswich and that is fantastic for me.
“England is a great country, the best in the world for football. The Premier League is my favourite football, then the Championship. It’s my dream, like so many others to play in the Premier League and hopefully I will get the chance to do that with Ipswich.”
Balint has already struck up a rapport with the Town fans, celebrating his terrific goal with the Blue Army at Roots Hall Tuesday night.
“I enjoyed the goal. It was a special moment for me,” added the frontman, who spent a year with West Ham as a teenager but did not feature in the first-team.
“I ran to the fans to celebrate because the fans are always the most important people at a football club.”
