Mick delighted with the performance of his players after seeing his side defeat Gillingham in the July sunshine
Town boss Mick McCarthy was happy with the performance of his players, after seeing his side beat Gillingham 2-0 in the blistering heat.
The sun shone over the MEMS Priestfield Stadium as goals from Alex Henshall and Luke Hyam ensured Blues continued the impressive pre-season form.
“It was a good workout for the lads, especially in the intense heat that both teams had to play in,” Mick told the Club website.
“I thought we played well and I thought we deserved to win.
“I can’t remember Gerks [Dean Gerken] having a save to make and I was thoroughly pleased with the performance.
“We’re playing well and we’ve come through another game without picking up any injuries, so I’m very pleased.”
