Are you friendly, fun and confident? Do you get described as helpful, considerate and approachable? Would your friends say that you are proactive, patient and understanding?
If so you may be just what Ipswich Town Football Club are looking for!
Town are looking to make improvements to the matchday experience of fans visiting Portman Road during the 2014/15 season by introducing a team of Matchday Ambassadors, who will hold a similar role to the Games Makers of the London 2012 Olympics. The ambassador roles are one of a number of initiatives that the team of staff at Portman Road are looking to introduce in time for the new season.
Offering volunteering opportunities, with the chance to gain event experience, the club aim to build on their current matchday operation, shadowing the success witnessed by other Football League clubs who have recruited an ambassador team of their own.
Town’s vision for their ambassadors includes fans being met and greeted on the perimeter of the stadium, an increase in assistance for those fans needing directions or advice, and increased interaction for younger fans in the pre-match build up.
The club hope to recruit a team of volunteers large enough to ensure there is a strong presence at each home league and cup match. Full training will be provided alongside a uniform with ambassadors being able to watch Town in action too as part of their role!. Experience in a similar customer interacting role would be an advantage, however this is non-essential.
Applications are welcomed from those who feel they have the key skills to be part of this new, fun, vibrant team. Those interested in applying should forward their CV with a covering letter, by email, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively applicants can post their CV and cover letter to Lee Hyde, Matchday Ambassador Application, Ipswich Town Football Club, Portman Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 2DA.
