Milts and Team ITFC ready for London to Amsterdam cycle challenge this weekend in support of Prostate Cancer UK
Preparations are well underway as Team ITFC get ready for their big London to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge this week, in support of Prostate Cancer UK and the Ipswich Town Academy.
Staff members at the Club will be joined by the likes of Alan Lee and Simon Milton in cycling the long journey from Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium to the Ajax Amsterdam Arena, with the team setting off on Friday.
Nerves and excitement are in the camp aplenty, but Milts the team are in good spirits ahead of the challenge.
“It’s for a great cause, it’s been a brilliant exercise in raising the funds and now I honestly can’t wait to go,” Milts told Ipswich Player.
“Everyone from Team ITFC is looking forward to the weekend and there’s definitely a mixture of nerves and excitement.
“We will be blogging throughout the journey via the official Club twitter and my own twitter to keep everybody back home updated and it will be a great challenge.
“We’ve been well looked after by Elmy Cycles who have kitted us all out with the correct equipment for our bikes and we’ve had loads of people lending their support to us.
“So far we will have raised about £20k for Prostate Cancer UK and we are hoping to raise another £10k for the Town Academy, so it’s certainly worth it.”

Additional funds were also raised at the recent Suffolk Show, with a number of signed ITFC merchandise auctioned off. Karen was the lucky winner of the Alan Lee signed shirt and that item raised £695.
