Facelift planned for family areas with help from Junior Blues
The Stand houses the main family area at Portman Road and Blues are planning a number of initiatives for the 2014/15 campaign aimed at youngsters that will create a ‘family feel’ to that part of the stadium.
Those initiatives include the introduction of illustrations on the concourse and Town are looking for Junior Blues to play their part by sending in their drawings of Club mascots Bluey and Crazee.
“We are asking our Bluey’s Bunch members (ages 5-7) to draw a picture of Bluey and similarly our Crazee Crew (8-12) members to do the same with Crazee,” Town’s Junior Blues manager, Julie Bryant, told the Club website.
“We are also asking our Town Teens (13-15) to send in their drawings of anything Ipswich Town. We are looking at generic images that stand the test of time rather than current players.
“Once we have picked out our three preferred drawings, an artist will recreate the images into a design on the concourse, with the winner from each age group invited to Portman Road to watch the work in progress and have their picture taken with their drawing.”
Send your entries in an envelope to Julie Bryant, Junior Blues manager, ITFC, Portman Road, IP1 2DA. Please include your name, age and contact details. The closing date is July 10.
