Delighted to start crucial run with three deserved points says boss
Daryl Murphy’s ninth goal of the season was enough to separate the teams and keep Blues firmly in the Play-Off hunt, just four points off the top six.
“We have a big month ahead so it was the perfect way to start,” Mick told Ipswich Player.
“I think we deserved it as well. It was a hard-fought win. They made it difficult for us. They pressed from their half but we kept at it and I was delighted to see the front three players involved in the goal.
“Tayls [Paul Taylor] came in. He wouldn’t have played but we couldn’t risk Jonny Williams with an injury he picked up in training yesterday.
“Opportunity knocks for someone else in those circumstances and Tayls did great, you could see that by the reaction he got from the fans at the end.
“He’s better in a 433. When he is allowed to play he’s a threat and he was today. It’s the other side of the game that he has to do and he did that well this afternoon.”
