BOSS EXPECTS TO LOSE JONNY

29 March 2014

Slim hopes of extending loan admits Mick

Mick McCarthy says he expects Jonny Williams to be recalled by Crystal Palace but has not given up hope entirely that he will stay.

The 20-year-old Wales international’s loan is due up on March 31 and Palace boss Tony Pulis was at Portman Road on Tuesday to see the midfielder score a brilliant goal in a man of the match display in Blues’ win over Derby.

“I think it’s unlikely Jonny will be able to stay with us,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“Palace have beaten Chelsea today so maybe that has opened the door a bit for us to keep him, I don’t know. I’ll certainly be having a chat with Tony.

“The Palace fans want him back though. They all want him back so I’m harbouring slim hopes of him staying.”
