BOSS LOOKING FOR JONNY TO STAY

17 March 2014

Midfielder impresses in first start

Mick McCarthy is confident of keeping Jonny Williams until the end of the season.

The Wales international, who is on loan at Town from Crystal Palace, made his first start for Blues and impressed in the defeat by Wigan on Saturday.

Jonny’s loan stay is initially until the end of March but Mick is looking beyond that date before he returns to Selhurst Park.

“Jonny was excellent on Saturday. He had a really good game,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“I think if he is playing games then we can keep him. That was the agreement but they do have the option to take him back, which is normal.”

Meanwhile Academy scholar Kyle Hammond has been ruled out for up to nine months with a cruciate ligament injury.
