CRESSY: THAT'S NOT LIKE US

8 March 2014

Defender gives credit to Middlesbrough's performance but admits Town didn't play to their usual standards today

Aaron Cresswell was disappointed with Town’s performance against Middlesbrough this afternoon, admitting it ‘wasn’t like us today’.

A first-half double from striker Danny Graham won it for Boro, with the left-back agreeing that the hosts were excellent throughout the 90 minutes.

Now the former Tranmere man is calling for Town to return to winning ways against Yeovil on Tuesday and reignite the Play-Off push.

“It was a difficult game for us from the first minute and in fairness, I thought they were excellent on the day,” Cressy told the Club website.

“That wasn’t like us, the way we’ve performed today. We’re in tomorrow and we will look at the DVD of the game, see where we went wrong and go from there.

“We had a chance through Tayls [Paul Taylor] which if we had taken, it might have been a different story, and they’ve scored right on half-time which made it an even harder task and sort of killed the game.

“We’ve still got 12 games left though and there’s no reason why we can’t get back into the top six. We need to put a bit of a run together, as we enter such a crucial month, and that starts on Tuesday at Yeovil.”
